Senator John McCain

We just returned from a picnic where we heard from a spokesman for Senator McCain. He was a POW with Senator McCain and spent several years at the Hanoi Hilton. His name is CDR Alverez. He was very well spoken and made several key points.

In addition to the "regular" things we hear about the Senator, his focus was on the integrity and the character of the man. AND the humility of the man. Quite a contract to what we are seeing from the other side.

Character is tremendously important! Having confidence in the person in leadership is key. I could go through a lot of reasons why...but we have heard those time and time again. It is the same in politics as it is in any area of life.

So, what are your thoughts? Does character count? Why? I'd like to hear what others are thinking.
